When I first moved to New Orleans I was broke. Somehow I met an amazing group of people who helped me create something beautiful out of nothing. Here it is world. Enjoy.

Oscar Lock-in

As part of our thrifty adventures last weekend Lauren and I had a movie marathon lock in at home. We caught up on as many of the Academy Award nominated films as we could. Then had our own Oscars party at home. The guest list was us, the cat, and the dog. The menu was pretty fancy and we had plenty of red wine, dark chocolate, and parmesan popcorn. Still need to check out Life of Pi, Lincoln, and Silver Linings Playbook. It may be a while though after the epic marathon weekend.

Paprika & Garlic Shrimp w/ Green & Lima Beans over Quinoa 

Amazing story telling and awesome soundtrack that I can't get out of my head. So happy they won.

Watched this film first and was blown away.

This was compelling but when watching that many documentaries back to back  subtitles become arduous.

Really raw subject matter. Not a feel good film. Well put together though.

Hats off to the big winner.

Lauren is obsessed.

 Hopefully they will be back in New Orleans to make more movies after a few wins.

We were both pulling for the home team on this one.

Really fun dark but heartfelt comedy. All of the live action shorts were worth checking out though. 

EASY

Be on the lookout for a new web series written and directed by Chris Sheard called Easy. It follows a young musician who moves to New Orleans to 'make it' in the 'Big Easy'. He get's caught up in the 24-hour party scene and hilarity ensues. The show features some great local musical and comedic performances. The pilot was shot and edited by yours truly. More on this later...

A film I worked on last year just hit theaters. Beautiful Creatures. Go see it! Looks like it should be a fun ride. I know I had a great time helping make it.

These 2 movies took up quite a bit of my time last year. Looks like both are going to be fun flicks. I'm stoked to see them. Also Seeking Justice, starring Nick Cage, is either out or going to be out soon. The working title was Hungry Rabbit Jumps, which I personally think is way more creative. Anyways go see these movies so they make money and keep coming back to film in Hollywood South: the other LA.
